All too often, people do not go to the dentist for one of four reasons. They may have a fear of dentists; have put off going for so long and may be embarrassed by this fact; they are unsure what to do, or they worry about not having adequate dental insurance cover to cover the costs should any major dental work be required. The number of people who will not do something simply because they do not know what to expect is really very high indeed.

Going to a dentist is no different to going to the doctor or taking your cat to the vet. It is often a mere matter of procedure. When you go for your appointment, you may not want to go too early, as surgeries can often be busy with emergency patients, meaning that you may have to wait. If you are on any medications, take a list of them to give to the receptionist.
